November 5, 2026
November 5, 2026 – Citi Handlowy reported strong business volume growth in the third quarter of 2026, translating into higher total revenues. Results were driven by strong performance in custody and brokerage, along with record foreign exchange revenues.
Citi Handlowy’s total revenues in Q3 2026 increased 10% QoQ and 3% YoY. Net fee and commission income maintained strong momentum, posting double-digit year-on-year growth for the second consecutive quarter (+10% YoY). Custody fee income rose 16% YoY, reinforcing the bank’s market-leading 42% share, while brokerage fees nearly doubled over the same period. Net interest income contracted 7% YoY, reflecting the lower interest rate environment.
Net income for the quarter stood at PLN 288 million, down YoY primarily due to increased operating expenses (+46% YoY). Higher costs were driven by higher investments in technology, including enhancing infrastructure resilience in the era of expanding Artificial Intelligence.
Lending volumes increased by 11% YoY, while total deposits grew by 10% YoY. Foreign exchange turnover reached a record high, increasing by 47% YoY and 20% QoQ. This performance underscores heightened client activity and effective hedging of their operations in a volatile market environment.

The bank’s commitment to client initiatives translated into PLN 1.5 billion in new financing in Q3, up 5% QoQ. Global corporate clients accounted for over 70% of this volume, primarily across the automotive, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. Key transactions included a PLN 745 million guarantee facility granted to a leading technological innovator in Poland's defense industry.
During the third quarter, Citi Handlowy also participated in a syndicated loan facility for Polpharma and Windstorm Trading & Investments Limited, delivering up to PLN 150 million in financing dedicated to refinancing of existing debt and supporting the group's continued expansion.
Leveraging institutional synergies across Citi's global network, Citi Handlowy’s brokerage acted as Global Coordinator and Joint Bookrunner in an Accelerated Bookbuilding for shares in XTB valued at over PLN 1.5 billion.
I am pleased that our third-quarter revenue grew by 10% QoQ, reaching the highest level this year in Corporate Banking segment. This quarter also demonstrated exceptional client activity in FX, where volumes increased by a fifth compared to Q2. We observed similarly strong momentum in our brokerage business, where turnover rose 17% QoQ. Simultaneously, we are executing strategic investments in our next-generation technology infrastructure, which underpins our competitive advantage in institutional banking – said Patrycjusz Wójcik, Citi Handlowy’s Chief Financial Officer.
Return on Equity stood at 18.6%, while the Total Capital Ratio reached 24.3%, reflecting the bank's ongoing balance sheet strength and solid capital position.
